A Social Media Strategy Case Study | The Marketing Mage
Industry: Political Campaign / Public Affairs
Services: Social Media Strategy, Content Editing & Preparation, Scheduling & Publishing, Performance Reporting
Platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Threads
Outcome: Candidate won her seat on November 3, 2026
The Challenge
The Georgia Public Service Commission helps decide what Georgians pay for electricity, yet most voters couldn’t tell you what it does. The campaign needed to explain rate cases, data-center demand, and utility accountability in plain language, and to do it consistently during a fast-moving election cycle.
Our Approach
We shaped and ran the campaign’s social presence across Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. That meant turning technical energy topics into content people would actually stop and read, keeping the voice consistent, and publishing quickly around events and milestones.
Core themes: electricity affordability, public accountability, data-center infrastructure, and community engagement.
The Results
Instagram followers doubled to 670, with 159,050 views and 8,245 interactions.
Explainer content grew the audience. A PSC educational graphic was among the top posts for new followers.
Facebook reached beyond the base. 70.6% of views came from non-followers, visits rose 150%, and posts were shared 196 times.
Threads built a new audience, adding 31 followers on the campaign’s newest channel.
Instagram and Threads figures cover a 90-day window; Facebook covers July 6 – November 6, 2026.
The Takeaway
Complex topics don’t need complicated content. When people understand why something matters to their bill, their community, and their vote, they pay attention, and they follow along.
Congratulations to Commissioner-elect Edwards and the whole campaign team. It was an honor to help tell this story.
Results reflect overall account analytics during the periods noted. They aren’t solely attributable to social media management and don’t establish an effect on election results.
